Police have identified the 24-year-old man found burned on the side of the freeway last week.

Investigators are saying that Gilbert Medina, listed as a transient, crawled to the 605 Freeway in the City of Industry from a horse trail. He was found on the side of the roadway with severe burns to his face and body.

He was treated at local hospital, but died the next day.

Detectives are treating the incident as a homicide, and were looking into whether Medina was doused with a flammable liquid before he was set on fire.
