Suspect who Allegedly Murdered Bay Area Rapper Charged

OAKLAND – On Tuesday,  June 26 prosecutors charged a Richmond man with the slaying of a San Francisco rapper in downtown Oakland.  Keith Head- a.k.a. “K.O. Da Bandit” was fatally injured by a gunshot wound on 13th and Broadway Streets at approximately 10:20 a.m. on April 23.  The 12th Street BART station was caused to have a short closure that morning.

The gang member and the rapper reportedly got into an altercation in the middle of the street before Head was shot.  Raney was arrested Saturday night by Richmond police near the 500 block of Fifth Street, close to his residence.

DL Raney, 21, was charged with murder and weapons enhancement by prosecutors.  He is being held at the Santa Rita jail in Dublin and is ineligible for bail.  No motive was established by officers.
