Bakersfield Men Busted in Pismo for Alleged Burglary

PISMO BEACH – Two Bakersfield men were arrested Monday night in Pismo Beach after alert residents reported the suspected burglars to police.

Just after 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Pismo Beach police officers responded to the 800 block of Merced Avenue for a report of a suspicious Dodge Ram pick-up truck in the area.

Residents reported to police dispatchers that one to two male subjects were seen walking around the residential neighborhood, possibly checking car doors. When officers arrived at the location, the suspect vehicle was located, a traffic enforcement stop was conducted and the truck was searched, according to the Police Department.

Bakersfield residents William Campbell, 22, and Cody Boronda, 26, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of stolen property, burglary tools, methamphetamine and  drug paraphernalia. Both men were booked at County Jail, with their bails set at $20,000 and $25,000, respectively.

Officers allegedly recovered stolen property from the Dodge Ram, as well as burglary tools, narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The stolen property recovered from the vehicle was subsequently linked to several recently reported vehicle and residential burglaries within the Pismo Beach area, police said.
