Police Searching for Armed Robbery Suspect

SANTA MARIA – Police are searching for an unidentified man who allegedly robbed the Check Into Cash on Betteravia Road Monday afternoon.

The unidentified man entered the Check Into Cash at 230 E. Betteravia just after 2:30 p.m. He was armed with a gun and demanded cash from the clerks, according to Santa Maria police.

Clerks at the check-cashing business gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and he fled the location in an unidentified vehicle, police said.

The suspect, an adult male, was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and pants of an unknown color. He is five feet, eight inches tall and weighs between 140 pounds and 160 pounds.
