Police ID fatalities in Roseville rainstorm wreck

ROSEVILLE — Two people killed in a Sunday morning traffic collision have been identified as the driver and passenger in a Chevrolet pickup truck that lost control during a morning rainstorm.

At 9:49 a.m. Dec. 19, Roseville police and fire personnel responded to the collision scene. Officers found that  a Chevy S10 pickup had been traveling southbound on Roseville Road during a heavy rainstorm when the driver lost control of the vehicle on a curve.  The driver tried to correct, and the pickup veered into the northbound lane, broadsiding a northbound Dodge Nitro sports utility vehicle.

Allan Joseph Blas, the 54-year-old passenger in the Chevrolet pickup, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup, 52-year-old Janice Pittman of Granite Bay, was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where she was also pronounced dead.

Car Accident

The driver of the Dodge SUV, Terry McCormack Jr., 24, of Citrus Heights, was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, treated and released.  He had no passengers in his vehicle.

Roseville Road was closed for about four-and-a-half hours while the Roseville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team examined the scene.
