Man arrested in Elk Grove for child pornography

ELK GROVE — Elk Grove police arrested Bradley Dayley, 38 Wednesday for molesting a 12-year-old family member over a period of three years.
Dayley was arrested at his residence in Elk Grove after detectives served a search warrant related to child pornography. During the warrant search, detectives recovered videotaped and photographic evidence of the sexual abuse.
Dayley has been charged with engaging in sexual acts with a child under the age of 14, sexual exploitation of a child by means of film, and the distribution of child pornography.
Because of the nature of the case, the Elk Grove Police Department is unable to specify the relation with the family member at this time.
A search in the Megan’s Law directory showed Dayley is not a registered sex offender, and Elk Grove Police Officer Christopher Trim wasn’t able to comment on whether Dayley had any priors.
When asked whether the victim came forward to report the abuse, Trim replied that a source whose identity is being withheld alerted the Elk Grove Police Department on Aug 28.
Trim noted that the Elk Grove Police Department found out about the sexual abuse from a source “that had some concerns.”

A booking photo is not being released at this time because, Trim said, “We don’t know if there are any additional victims and it would jeopardize the investigation.”
Dayley is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail at the Sacramento County Jail.
