Citrus Heights cops arrest alleged rapist

CITRUS HEIGHT — (Dec. 22) A 29-year-old Carmichael man is in jail after his arrest by Citrus Heights police officers for an alleged sexual assault.

According to Lt. Ray Bechler, Citrus Heights Police Department, Jacob Ivan Stidham, 5814 Flintlock Court, was arrested after officers had been contacted by the victim.

The woman claimed that she had met Stidham at a local bar Sunday night, Bechler said. After a few drinks, the woman told officers that she wanted to go home.

Stidham, Bechler said, offered her a ride home.

The woman claimed that Stidham drove her to another location, Bechler reported. At that location, Stidham allegedly assaulted her.

Citrus Heights police arrested Stidham at his Carmichael residence and he was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, charged with false imprisionment, rape, sodomy and kidnapping and bail set at $100,000. Stidham has a Jan. 7 court appearance.
