Public helps Lincoln Police find robbery suspect

LINCOLN, Calif. — Lincoln Police are crediting local citizens with helping to find the suspect from last month’s strongarm robbery of a local hotel.

Police reports say the suspect robbed Holiday Inn Express, 155 Ferrari Ranch Rd., very early on November 15. The report added that the desk clerk had been assaulted by the robber, suffering minor injuries.

Various items were taken, including a large-screen TV, and the suspect also grabbed the hotel’s 2002 Ford van to haul off the goods. A report says the burned-out van was found nearby shortly after the crime.

“We developed information at the (crime) scene as to who the suspect might be,” Lincoln Police Department Lieutenant Paul Shelgren said, adding that the department then contacted local media.

“It went right. We soon learned where our suspect might be,” Shelgren said.

That information led to Wednesday’s (Dec. 3) robbery warrant arrest of Eric F. Arredondo at his residence in the 500 block of Whyte Ave. in Roseville.

Shelgren said evidence connecting Arredondo was found at the residence, but declined to provide specifics.

“We are checking some similar crimes in our area to see if he might be involved in those,” Shelgren said.

The 22-year old Arredondo was booked at the Placer County Jail on the the no-bail warrant, and will also be charged with possession of stolen property, and felony committed while on bail.
