Custodian Beaten and Nearly Mugged in Stockton

According to a police report, a 35-year-old Westwood Elementary School custodian was shoved to the ground, hit, and almost robbed Tuesday evening.

Shortly before 8 p.m. at the school in the 9400 block of Caywood Drive, the custodian was cleaning rooms when he was approached by a group of males.

Members of the group were asking about a bicycle that one of them had supposedly left at the school the previous. The custodian told them that the bicycle was not at the school, and they left.

Shortly after the group left, one of the members returned and demanded the custodian hand over his wallet. When the custodian refused, the boy attacked. However, the custodian managed to chase the attacker from the school property.

The custodian described the attacker to police as a 16 or 17-year-old Latino boy, weighing about 150 pounds and standing at 5 feet 11 inches. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jean shorts, and a red baseball cap with a black symbol on the front. He had brown eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Stockton Police Department at (209) 937-8377.
