Woman arrested for attacking husband

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s office announced the arrest of a 35-year-old woman, Daisy Larissa Atkinson, for an attack on her husband last Friday night.

Deputies responded to a call at 6:41 pm for help to a location along Highway 20, the forested road leading from Fort Bragg inland to Willits. Arriving at the spot about just outside of central Willits, they contacted a man who reported he had been in an argument with his wife, which had turned into a physical fight while in their vehicle. He reported that she had hit him a number of times in the upper back and head. Deputies observed that he had visible injuries on his shoulder and neck, along with scratch marks on his right arm.

The Sheriff’s department did not identify the victim of the assault, other than to state it was Daisy Atkinson’s husband. However, Ms. Atkinson was featured in 2012 with her husband Isaac as participants in the Willits Farmers’ Market, selling fresh salmon there, and at the Ukiah Farmers’ Market as well. This is the second incident recorded involving domestic violence involving the couple, as Isaac Atkinson was arrested in May 2013 on charges of battery on a spouse, co-habitant, or former spouse (pc 243(E)(1). No details of that arrest were available.

Daisy Atkinson was arrested and taken to Mendocino County Jail, with bail set at $25,000. She faces felony charges of assault-domestic violence – inflicting corporal injury upon a spouse.
