Woman arrested for attacking another woman and young girl

Anchor Bay is a small community along the beautiful Northern California coast in Mendocino County, just north of Gualala and headed towards Point Arena and its famous lighthouse. The community of about 350 people is located around the Coast Highway, and has a very small business area of shops and restaurants, along with cabins, lodging, and campgrounds. Behind the main row of businesses is a series of streets named Ocean View – Street, Avenue, Way, Court, and Drive, that lead to several homes a short walk away from the highway and the beach.

It was along Ocean View Drive that a 37-year-old woman and her 10-year-old daughter were walking to their home at around 9 pm on Thursday, February 12. According to the Mendocino Sheriff’s office, they were accosted by 25-year-old Patrease Christine Fields, who also lives in the area. Fields, who is also known as Patrease Fakhouri, approached the woman about an outstanding debt.

The two women began arguing, and the fight became physical. As they fought, the daughter attempted to break them up, and Fields slapped the girl in the face.

The mother took her daughter and attempted to get inside their home, but while they walked across the lawn, Fields reportedly got into her pickup truck and drove toward them. The woman pushed her daughter out of the way and tried to escape herself, but was knocked down by the truck, and her right leg was run over, as Fields drove on across the neighbor’s yard and away.

The Sheriff’s Office was called at 9:07 pm. Fields was arrested that night at 10:54, and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment, and for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. She was booked Friday morning at the Mendocino County Jail, and released on $32,500.00 bail.

This is not Fields’ first arrest on assault charges. While living in Santa Rosa, on August 4, 2010, when she was 20-years-old she was charged with assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, according to available arrest records. No further details of that incident were available.
