Vacaville U-Haul Robbery Suspects To Stand Trial

Three suspects in the armed robbery of Vacaville U-Haul Moving and Storage were ordered to stand trial during a probable cause hearing in Solano County Superior Court on August 8. One other suspect remains at large. Joshua Davenport and Michael Delacruz allegedly robbed the business in downtown Vacaville on January 5. Jessika Davenport is alleged to be the getaway car driver.

Antonio Tinoco, the business’s assistant manager, testified that he had rented the Davenports a trailer earlier that day. Joshua Davenport returned at closing time. Two men were with him. Davenport informed Timoco he had an issue with the trailer. While conversing with Tinoco, Davenport pulled a handgun on him.

The car’s two passengers got out and approached the U-Haul office. Jeffrey Beukelman, another employee, was inside. Pulling another gun, one of the robbers ordered Beukelman to unlock the office door. Beukelman emptied cash registers and handed over the contents. He testified he did not get good looks at the robbers. However, surveillance camera footage identified Delacruz.

Meanwhile, Joshua Davenport robbed Tinoco of his wallet and cell phone, and told him not to give police detailed descriptions because he now “had all his information.” Soon, however, Vacaville police detectives set up surveillance on a Motel 6 in Gilroy. On January 9, they observed Jessika Davenport leaving. They traffic stopped her vehicle nearby. Back at the motel, after a brief standoff, Gilroy SWAT officers arrested Joshua Davenport.

Jessika Davenport is to be tried on accessory charges while Delacruz and Joshua Davenport face trial for second degree robbery. The three are to face arraignment on August 22.
