University area sex assault suspect wanted

Cal State University Northridge police are looking for a man who inappropriately touched a student’s behind on Friday.

The victim said the groper approached her by making small talk before asking for a hug and then grabbing her buttocks, according to reports. She reported the incident to authorities, who released a composite sketch this week. The suspect is described as a 5-foot-6-inch Hispanic male in his early to mid-20s.

Anyone with information about the crime is urged to call the campus police investigations unit at 818-677-3826.

A similar incident was reported on campus last year, although authorities have not said whether the two unsolicited grabs are connected.
