Three Booked for Gang Killling

Santa Barbara County – Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives have been hard at work since August 19th when a group of area farm workers discovered the dead body of Javier Alcantar Limon riddled with multiple gunshot wounds in the Santa Maria area known as “Guadalupe Dunes”.

According to the public announcement released on October 28th of arrests in the case by SBSD Public Information Officer Kelly Hoover, the 37-year old Limon’s apparent murder was quickly “related to criminal street gang and drug activity.” That determination became the vanguard element of the investigation that followed. Rigorous law enforcement research into the activities of those known to have area gang affiliations led to the identification and arrests on September 24th of three primary suspects in the shooting death of Limon: Gregorio Agustine, 26, and the brother-sister team of Yesenia Granados, 24, and Arturo Granados, 22.

Both men, according to Hoover, “are being charged with murder and several special circumstances including lying in wait, kidnap, torture, and committing murder for criminal street gang purposes.” Augustine was also charged with possession of ammunition and possession of a controlled substance for sale.

For her part, Yesenia Granados is charged with being an accessory after the fact, gang violations, and probation violation for possession of a controlled substance.
