Thousand Oaks Gang-banger Busted for Stabbing

Thousand Oaks Gang-banger Busted for Stabbing

Ventura County – It’s not often than an 18-year old has the temerity or physical wherewithal to confront a 41-year old man with physical violence, but that age difference apparently held no sway in the mindset of Jerver Munoz, 18, a resident of Thousand Oaks.

In the early evening of September 3rd, as recently reported by Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Thousand Oaks Station spokesman Sgt. Dan Hawes, a large law enforcement response team—including “patrol deputies, the Thousand Oaks Police Special Enforcement Unit and Detectives”—got word of a substantial brouhaha between opposing street gang parties within the boundaries of the City of Thousand Oaks.

When the gang fight was finally broken up, with participants scattering hither and yon, Jose Navarro, 41, also a resident of Thousand Oaks, was discovered to be suffering from “a stab wound to his abdomen”. Navarro was promptly transported by ambulance to a local area hospital where he was last reported to be in stable condition.

Some 24 hours later, on September 4th, pursuant to aggressive investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department Special Enforcement Unit, Jerver Munoz was identified as the primary suspect in the stabbing, and as a documented local area gang member. Early that evening, he was observed walking on a residential street within the city and was summarily arrested without incident.

Munoz was transported to Ventura County Jail where he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with bail set at $20,000.
