Suspects Arrested in Connection to Two Armed Robberies

FRESNO – Three suspects are in custody following two armed robberies and a carjacking that took place within 30 minutes of each other on Sunday night in central Fresno.

The two armed robberies took place around 9:30 p.m. and 9:35 p.m. on West Clinton Avenue. Four suspects robbed two people in separate incidents and took a cell phone, headphones and clothes, according to the Fresno Police Department.

About 10 minutes later, a woman was carjacked at Palm and Dakota avenues, allegedly by the same four suspects. They drove away in the woman’s white Lexus and in the silver four-door sedan they had been riding in.

The suspects were armed with two handguns during the crimes, police said.

Officers spotted a silver sedan matching the description of the suspects’ car near Yale and Blackstone avenues. When the officers pulled up, two people ran, but they were able to catch a juvenile. They also found a 9 mm handgun and recovered property from the robberies. They also discovered the stolen Lexus across the street.

Officers then searched the area and found 20-year-old Simmie Paschal, of Sacramento, and another juvenile hiding. Paschal was arrested and booked on charges of armed robbery. The two juveniles were booked into the Fresno County Juvenile Justice Center and face carjacking, armed robbery and weapons charges.

Detectives are still looking for the last suspect.
