Suspect Arrested in Wasco Stabbing

WASCO — A 25-year-old man suspected of stabbing another man over the past weekend was arrested by police in Wasco. Victor Rosales was booked into the Kern County Jail on one charge of attempted murder.

His bail has been set at $515,000.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the stabbing took place on June 13, in the 600 block of “D” Street in Wasco. When deputies arrived at the scene, they said they found Enrique Ramirez suffering from a single stab wound.

After a brief investigation, it was determined that Rosales, who knew the victim, stabbed Ramirez one time during a verbal argument. Rosales, who was already wanted on a petty theft warrant, was arrested by deputies at the scene, while Ramirez was transported to Kern Medical Center with major injuries. He underwent surgery and is listed in critical condition.
