A man has been arrested after forcibly taking his 4-year-old child from his mother against a lawful Family Court order, according to an official press release issued by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

On Wednesday, February 4, Sac Sheriff issued a plea for the public’s assistance in locating the missing child. The 4-year-old had reportedly been abducted by the suspect — who is the child’s father — on the evening of Tuesday, February 3 from a family member’s residence within the 7000 block of Dolphinfish Way in Sacramento County. The suspect reportedly placed the child into a two-door, blue 2005 Dodge Stratus with paper license plates before erratically driving away.

At the time of the abduction, the suspect had reportedly made statements that he was taking the child and leaving the state. According to Sac Sheriff, the suspect had no custody or visitation rights to the child through the Sacramento Family Court system.

Later on Wednesday, the suspect was reportedly found at a north Sacramento apartment complex after family members called Sac Sheriff to report his location. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The child, Adrian Brown Jr., was located safe inside the apartment and has been reunited with his mother.
