Sonoma County Sheriff Requests Information on Armed Robbery

Santa Rosa – On Friday night, August 29 at about 10:54 pm, Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported armed robbery that had just occurred at the Stony Point Market. located at 3207 Stony Point Road (adjacent to Butler Avenue) in Santa Rosa.

The clerk on duty at the market reported that a male adult confronted him with a semiautomatic handgun and ordered him to give him all the money out of the cash register. The clerk removed an undisclosed amount of money and gave it to the suspect.

The armed suspect fled from the scene on foot in an unknown direction. Deputies conducted a search of the neighborhood in the vicinity of the market but the suspect was not located. The Sheriff’s Office canine unit also assisted in the search.

The suspect was described as a male adult wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, black pants, and he had a cloth mask covering his face at the time of the robbery.

The investigation is on-going. Citizens are asked to contact the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office at 707-565-2650 if you have any information about this case. The same store was hit with a masked armed robber in February this year.
