SLO Suspect Arrested for Stabbing

The San Luis Obispo Police have a man in custody for allegedly stabbing another man on Sunday.

According to SLOPD, they responded to a report of a possible stabbing at the Burger King parking lot located at 1358 Madonna Rd. Police were told the stabbing just happened. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a male victim with a laceration to his torso.

The victim was treated at the scene by medical personnel and released. According to the victim, he and the suspect, James Angelico, 55, of San Luis Obispo were arguing prior to the attack. The victim stated he and the suspect were acquaintances.

Police were able to get a good suspect description from the witness and a witness. Police also received information regarding the description of the suspect’s bicycle. A SLOPD officer located a bicycle matching the description at a McDonalds, located at 275 Madonna. The officer then located Angelico in the parking lot and placed him under arrest for assault with a deadly weapon.

Angelico was taken into custody without incident. The knife was recovered and booked as evidence. Angelico was transported and booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. His bail was set at $25,000.
