The Two Groups Had Confrontation the Previous Evening
HOLLISTER—Hollister Authorities arrested two individuals after a series of attacks this 4th of July weekend that left three suffering from gunshot wounds.
On Sunday Morning authorities arrested 42-year-old Reno, Nevada resident Michael Kich for discharging a weapon during the confrontation at a Hollister Chevron Station. At 10:30 am, Hollister Police received a call of a shooting that just occurred at the Chevron Station at 631 San Felipe Road. Upon their arrival, police found three individuals suffering from gunshots, and one individual suffering from what appeared to an assault.
The three individuals were flown to Bay Area Hospitals for treatment for their injuries. The fourth individual refused medical treatment at the scene. All who involved in this incident were listed in stable condition as of Monday, July 7.

The shooting that occurred at the Chevron Station seems to be a continuation from an incident that occurred at the Hollister Motorcycle Rally on Saturday night. In that incident a fight broke out between the two rival clubs. One person, 51-year-old Kelly Eugene Rivas from Grass Valley, was arrested then for possession of a concealed weapon.
Rivas is a member of the “Wino’s Crew” from the Grass Valley Chapter. According to their website they have been having a long standing feud with the “Boozefighters” since 1996. Although everyone went home after the fight on Saturday night, the two groups met up on Sunday at the Chevron Station and that’s when the violence escalated to the shooting.

“Grown men shooting at each other over colors is in no way honorable or respectful to our community’s hospitality. Like I’ve said in the past, if you want to fight over colors, fight for our nation’s red, white and blue.” Hollister Police Chief David Westrick said.
Several of those who were involved in the incident, including witnesses and victims, were not cooperative with the police. The Hollister are asking if anyone has information related to this investigation to please contact the police department at 1-831-636-4330.
