Search Leads to Arrest of Alleged Delano Gang Member

DELANO — Police arrested a 32-year-old gang member on Tuesday after a search warrant turns up drugs and guns.

Jose Espinoza was booked into the Kern County Jail Central Receiving Facility for participation in a criminal street gang, possession of a firearm by a felon and possessing ammunition by persons prohibited from owning or possessing.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, officers from the Kern Narcotics Enforcement Team (KNET) detectives, and the California Multi-Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team (Cal-MMET), executed a search warrant in the 1500 block of Almond Tree Way in Delano on April 8.

Police said that during the execution of the search warrant, officers said that they located evidence of marijuana sales, a large amount of U.S. currency and four firearms.

All were items were seized by authorities.
