Sacramento Man Arrested for Shoplifting and Assaulting Multiple Women
SACRAMENTO—A 20-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, December 17 at a Sacramento Target after he assaulted multiple women and robbed the store.
Sacramento police said that on Wednesday at approximately 4:50 p.m., Elue Dwight Palmer walked into the Target on 4th Avenue and began taking merchandise and hiding it with him as he walked around the store.
Officers arrived and apprehended Palmer, who was being detained by store security for shoplifting. But as officers investigated the scene, a woman came forward and said the man had sexually assaulted her in the store. Several other women were also assaulted. Palmer was booked into Sacramento County Jail on charges of sexual assault, burglary and false imprisonment, according to officials.
The Target on 4th Avenue in East Sacramento
Palmer is listed as a transient from Sacramento. He had recently been arrested by Sacramento Police, on Saturday December 13 near John Muir Park (16th & C St.) for giving false information to an officer. Prior to that, while living at the Stockton Shelter for the Homeless, he was arrested by the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department on charges of robbery on October 10, and petty theft, resisting arrest, giving false information, and failure to appear in court on October 8. Details of those arrests were not available, but they are likely related.
Prior to that, in September, he was twice charged with resisting arrest, and once for petty theft. And in July, while listed as transient from Tracy, he was charged with being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
