Sac Sheriff Arrests Stabbing Suspect

Homicide detectives from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department have recently arrested a suspect in connection to the stabbing death of a woman yesterday, according to an official press release.

Harold Russell Fulkerson, 28, was reportedly arrested for murder and booked into the Sacramento County Jail.

According to Sac Sheriff, on Tuesday, January 27 at 11:40 am, a person called to report a female within the Ashgrove Place apartment complex on the 3200 block of Laurelhurst Drive had been stabbed and needed immediate medical attention. When Rancho Cordova police officers arrived on the scene, they reportedly found a woman between 50 to 60 years of age deceased inside the apartment. Several people at the apartment were detained and interviewed by detectives.

Detectives believe there was no particular relationship between the victim and the suspect, who were reportedly both visitors to the apartment. Fulkerson’s residence of record is a house just a few blocks from the scene, but across the 50 Freeway in Rancho Cordova. A motive for the assault has not yet been determined, and detectives do not believe there are any outstanding suspects in this case.

The stabbing and subsequent arrest happened at this apartment complex.

This is not the first time Fulkerson has been arrested for serious or violent crimes. Sheriff’s Department records show that he was arrested in December 2013 for battery with serious bodily injury, carrying a concealed dirk or dagger, trespassing, and public intoxication. He had been arrested by officers from the Rancho Cordova CHP while at the Franchise Tax Board on Butterfield Way off of Folsom Blvd. He was released pending investigation, and formerly charged in October 2014 at the Sacramento Superior Court. No further details of that incident were available.

Earlier arrest records going back to August 2007 show an arrest for possession of concentrated cannabis and paraphernalia, along with a probation violation. In 2008 he was charged with assault causing great bodily injury, along with failure to appear in court. In 2009 he was arrested for petty theft, vandalism, and resisting arrest, and in 2010 for burglary, robbery and grand theft. Later that year he was arrested for vandalism and resisting arrest.
