Roseville PD Makes Halloween Morning Burglary Arrests

It seems two men were attempting some burglary tricks on Halloween morning, only to find themselves behind bars, according to an official weekly crime report issued by the Roseville Police Department.

Robert Eugene Gannon, 33, a transient from the Sacramento area, and David Manuel Huisman, 27, of Auburn, were reportedly arrested on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy and possessing stolen property.

According to Roseville PD, at 6:09 am on Friday, October 31, officers responded to a report of two men fighting in front of a house in the 800 block of Portside Circle. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the two men, who were reportedly wearing mostly black clothing.

Officers reportedly found the two men had a backpack full of burglar’s tools and a circular saw. Officers checked the neighborhood and found out that the circular saw had been taken from a locked tool box in the bed of a pick-up truck parked a few blocks away.

Gannon is apparently an experienced, but not necessarily successful, burglar. He was arrested in Sacramento at least twice this year on burglary charges, in August and March. Records going back to 2006 show a series of arrests totaling at least eight, mostly for burglary, robbery, and petty theft. In May of 2011 he was charged with vehicle theft, hit and run, driving with a suspended license, possession of narcotics and possession for sale. Details of these incidents were not available.

Gannon’s erstwhile partner, Huisman, has a record that trumps Gannon’s. Just in the past year records show Huisman has been charged seven times with burglary, petty theft, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest, and more. He has a history of several more arrests dating back at least to 2008.

Both men were booked into the Placer County Jail. Bail was set at $90,000. Huisman had additional charges of obstructing an officer and an outstanding warrant from Solano County added to his current list.
