Roseville PD Makes 3 Arrests Thanks to Citizen Tip

Officers from the Roseville Police Department were able to arrest three suspects and return some stolen bikes, thanks to a helpful tip from an observant citizen, according to an official weekly crime report.

Corey Lynn Lewis, 23, and Nicholas Lewis, 19 — both from the same home in Rio Linda — and a 16-year-old female from Yuba City were reportedly arrested on suspicion of theft, possessing stolen property and other related charges. Corey Lewis also had possession of a controlled substance charges, and bringing a controlled substance into jail, which means he was likely concealing drugs when he was booked.

According to Roseville PD, on Tuesday, October 7, just before 4 am, officers responded to a report from an attentive neighbor of suspicious activity — someone reportedly stuffing several bicycles into a vehicle near Michener Drive and Steinbeck Drive.

The resident reportedly gave officers a good description of the car, and officers were able to spot and stop it at Pleasant Grove Boulevard and Woodcreek Oaks Boulevard. Officers found the three occupants in the vehicle had stolen four unsecured bikes from a nearby apartment complex, The Oaks at Woodcreek, at the 1500 block of Pleasant Grove. They quickly disassembled them and put them in their vehicle, which was parked less than a half mile away in the residential neighborhood behind the apartments.

Corey Lewis had been previously arrested on July 14 on charges of burglary and receiving stolen property in the residential area of North Natomas in Sacramento, in the area north of the Sleep Train arena. Further details of that incident were not available.
