Roseville PD Arrests Carjacking Suspect

A 33-year-old Sacramento man is in custody in connection to a carjacking that occurred earlier this week in Roseville, according to an official press release from the Roseville Police Department.

Michael Anthony Milan, 33, of Sacramento was reportedly arrested Wednesday evening, January 14, and booked into the Placer County Jail on two counts of kidnapping during a carjacking, and one count of carjacking. He is reportedly being held on $2.21 million bail.

According to Roseville PD, on Monday, January 12 at about 4:30 pm, officers responded to a call about suspicious activity occurring in the greenbelt area of the Sierra Gardens neighborhood, near Sunrise Avenue and Douglas Boulevard. As officers were searching the area, dispatch reportedly received a call that a black Volkswagen Jetta had just been carjacked from in front of a store in the 1900 block of Douglas Boulevard with a woman and young girl inside. The carjacker reportedly let the woman and girl out in the 300 block of North Sunrise Avenue before driving the stolen car out of the area.

Following an intensive investigation, Roseville PD detectives served a search warrant at an apartment in northern Sacramento County in the Foothill Farms area and arrested Milan.

Just two months prior, on November 21, Milan was arrested by Folsom Police for shoplifting at the Sports Authority store in the Palladio Shopping Center. He was detained by police at 2:40 in the afternoon that Friday, and found to be in possession of illegal drugs. In addition to the shoplifting charge, he was booked at the Sacramento Jail for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a narcotic controlled substance, according to available records.
