According to Roseville PD, at about 3:30 am on Sunday, July 27, officers responded to a carjacking that had just taken place in the overflow parking lot for The Fountains at the corner of Roseville Parkway and Reserve Drive. The victim had been reportedly getting into his car when a stranger approached him, pointed a handgun, and ordered him to get down on the ground. The stranger then reportedly drove away in the victim’s Audi sedan.

Roseville PD dispatchers reportedly broadcasted a description of the stolen car law enforcement agencies in the area, and a few minutes later officers from the Lincoln Police Department reportedly spotted the car being driven near Joiner Park in their city. Realizing he had been spotted, the suspect reportedly fled from Lincoln PD officers, crashed the stolen car, and then took off on foot.

Roseville and Rocklin PD officers, as well as Placer County Sheriff deputies, reportedly arrived in Lincoln to help search for the suspect. A few hours later, a Lincoln PD officer reportedly found the suspect hiding in the creek area and took him into custody.
