Redlands Police Arrest Attempted Murder Suspect

REDLANDS – Police arrested an attempted murder suspect last week after piecing together a string of connections that led to his location.

Jeffrey Thomas Moore, 27, reportedly stabbed a 29-year-old Redlands man in the 900 block of College Ave. on May 25. Redlands police spokesman Carl Baker said the unidentified victim had been stabbed in the neck with an unknown object.

Baker said the man survived the injuries, though did not disclose his current condition. The Redlands Police Multiple Enforcement Team spotted a car that was believed associated with Moore in the parking lot of an area motel on July 9.

“As they were checking the vehicle,” said Baker, “officers spotted Moore exiting a room in the motel.” Moore tried to flee on foot, but the officers chased him down, taking him into custody at a nearby trailer rental business. Police had spotted Moore at the Super 8 Motel at 1160 Arizona St. at 11:15 p.m.

When police searched Moore, they discovered five grams of methamphetamine and, in an additional search of his motel room, found a loaded semi-automatic handgun in his backpack, said Baker.
Moore was arrested for attempted murder, possession of narcotics and for being a felon in possession of a firearm, plus evading a police officer.

Three other people in the motel room were arrested as accessories after the fact, said Baker, plus additional drug charges and parole violations. Moore, who is being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, is being held on $1 million bail. He is scheduled to appear in court sometime this week.
