Prowler arrested after crashing through skylight

San Francisco – An Ocean View neighborhood resident got quite a shock early Wednesday morning when a burglar crashed through his bathroom skylight.

The alleged burglar, 24-year-old San Francisco resident Jerry Lyons, suffered a few cuts and bruises from the fall. When the resident asked what he was doing, Lyons replied that he “needed help.”

Lyons got up, dusted himself off and ran to the garage while the resident called police. When officers arrived Lyons was holding a shovel in one hand and a spray can in the other. He put up a brief fight before officers subdued him, and sent him to San Francisco General Hospital to treat his cuts and bruises.

Lyons now faces burglary and resisting arrest charges.
