Pregnant Women Gets Punched and Robbed, Items Recovered

On Saturday, August 29th at around 11:30 p.m., a Pomona Police Officer was patrolling the area on East Holt Avenue. During the patrol, he heard someone screaming nearby, and spotted a woman, 22, emerge from the alley south of the 900 Block of East Holt Avenue.

The woman, who was pregnant, told the officer that she had been punched in the head and robbed. She pointed in the direction the suspect had fled, and the officer spotted him. The suspect looked over his shoulder to see if he was being chased down, and hopped a fence once he realized the officer saw him. The suspect had some type of object in his hand. The officer immediately called for back-up and had his team surround the area.

A few moments later, Pomona PD officers found the suspect in the yard of a business in the 900 Block of East Holt. The suspect was taken into custody without incident, said police.

The suspect tried to use another name when he was arrested, but a photo line up helped the officers identify him correctly. He was identified as 19-year-old Najune Taevon Hudson of Upland/Fontana, and was booked for strongarm robbery, false impersonation, and resisting arrest.

The victim was worried about the condition of her head and was transported to the Pomona Valley Medical Center for treatment. Officers recovered the victim’s cell phone, purse, and other items that had been stolen by Hudson. The victim lives in Hemet.

This was not the only incident Hudson has had with the law. According to records, he has been arrested four times in the last year for charges of child endangerment, resisting or obstructing an officer, trespassing, and on July 22, 2014, committing lewd acts on a child by force or fear.
