Police Arrest Sacramento Man for Attempted Sexual Assault

SACRAMENTO—Police have arrested a 20-year-old Sacramento man for felony charges of kidnapping and assault with attempt to commit rape.

On Sunday, March 15, a female in her mid-teens was walking on North Loop Boulevard near Walerga Road in Antelope when she was approached by a man she did not know, who then dragged her into a nearby brush. The man was attempting to sexually assault her when a passerby witnessed the attack and stopped to help the victim. Her attacker fled into a nearby residential area where he was soon apprehended by Sheriff’s patrol deputies.

Eric Torres of Antelope was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. He is currently being held on a $1 million dollar bail and will face his first court appearance on Tuesday, March 17.
