Placer County Sheriff’s Office Arrests 4th Online Predator Since February

An online predator literally delivered himself to Placer County Jail after agreeing to meet a 13-year-old girl there for a sexual rendezvous, according to an official press release from Placer County Sheriff’s Office.

Daniel Eugene Kirschner, 28, of Auburn, was reportedly arrested on Tuesday, July 8 and booked into the Placer County Jail on charges of communicating with a minor for purposes of committing a sexual act, and attempted lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14. His bail was set at $100,00 and he reportedly bailed out at 1:30am on Wednesday, July 9. His court date is reportedly set for Monday, August 4 at 8:30 am in Dept. 31 of the Placer County Court.

Kirschner posted on his Facebook page on July 9 “Got in trouble again. Wish didn’t happen to me”. Then, responding to a friend’s comment, he wrote “Well I got setup and all my friends said I’m retarded already and they took advantage of me they all think is [deleted] up not my gault she responded first to so entrapment I call it”.

According to Placer County Sheriff, Kirschner is the fourth suspect since February 2014 to be arrested after placing an online ad that was answered by a Placer County Sheriff’s detective. Detectives have reportedly been responding to ads by posing as a 13-year-old girl.

In Kirschner’s case, he reportedly placed an ad seeking a girlfriend on a popular website. A detective reportedly responded to the ad and told him she was 13, however, the suspect did not stop corresponding with the “girl,” and continually talked to the detective for one week.

Detectives posing as the 13-year-old girl then told Kirschner she would meet up with him at Placer County Jail while her mother was there for her boyfriend’s court appearance. Kirschner reportedly did not hesitate to meet her there and as soon as he arrived, detectives confronted him and walked him right into the jail under arrest.
