One Woman Arrested After Assault

SAN FRANCISCO — Two women were brutally beaten in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Friday, July 17 after their home was broken into by three armed women, police said.

At around 8:30 p.m., a suspect identified as Deanna Johnson, 55, and two other women, ages 25 and 30, kicked down the door of a residence on the 1700 block of Quesada Avenue. The 25-year-old suspect struck one of the residents, 34, several times on the head and arms with a retractable metal baton, police said.

Johnson and the 30-year-old suspect began to attack the other female resident, 26, when she tried to intercede. Johnson used her own metal baton to strike the 26-year-old victim on the head and arms, police said. Officers then responded, located Johnson at her home, also on the 1700 block of Quesada, and placed her under arrest. The other two unidentified women remain at large.

Police did not to disclose the relationship between these women or the suspects’ reasons for the assault.

Johnson has been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit a crime, and burglary. She hasn’t had any prior arrests, according to available records.

One of the victims was left with a broken arm and head trauma, and the other victim suffered pain to the head and arms. They were treated at San Francisco General Hospital.
