Oakhurst woman arrested for identity theft

An arrest was made on an accused identity thief in Oakhurst last Wednesday, June 17. According to the Madera County Department of Corrections, Krystal Lee McNally was arrested by the Madera Sheriff’s Department in her apartment on Redbud Drive.

McNally, 36, had allegedly stolen a checkbook from an unnamed victim, along with a photo ID, power tools, credit cards, and a vehicle. The checks were then used in ten different locations around Fresno and Madera Counties before she was finally apprehended.

According to the Madera Sheriff’s Office, numerous transients were found with her at her unit at the Valley Oaks Apartments in northwest Oakhurst, just off Highway 49, along with further evidence of identity theft from additional victims. McNally is reportedly unemployed. She is being held in the Madera County jail on $1,000,000 bail; so far no one had stepped forward to pay it for her.
