Hollister Man Arrested Three Times In A Week

Suspect Was Booked on Numerous Drug Charges

HOLLISTER—The Hollister Police Department must be think they are seeing triplets. But no, they have arrested the same man three times in the past 17 days as they arrested 22-year-old Hollister resident Tyler James Gregory on drug charges on numerous occasions.

The first offense occurred on February 22, when police responded to an automobile accident on Sunnyslope Road in Hollister.  An investigation revealed that Gregory was driving while under the influence of a controlled substance.

He was transported to the San Benito County Jail and booked on over 10 charges that included DUI and possession of drugs for sale.

The second offense happened on March 9, when officers found illegal drugs and other drug related paraphernalia in Gregory’s possession during a traffic stop by police.  Again, Gregory was taken to San Benito County Jail and booked on possession of marijuana for sale and the transportation of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and a new charge of possession of cocaine.

The third offense occurred on March 11, when a witness called the police and reported what he saw “As a possible drug sale between men at the skate park.”  When Police arrived, they contacted two individuals about the possible transaction.  Further investigation resulted in the discovery of narcotics on Gregory and other man, 21-year-old Hollister resident Cesar Ramos.

“This is a result of what happens when the public gets involved.” Hollister Police Captain Carlos Reynoso said, “We can’t do this on our own, it needs to be a partnership between us and the community.”

Again, Gregory was arrested and transported to San Benito County Jail for the third times in less than 17 days.  One wonders if he has his own cell in the jailhouse. This latest rash is not new either – Gregory was also arrested in September last year for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernelia.

Gregory was charged with marijuana for sale, possession of methamphetamine, transportation of a controlled substance and bringing a controlled substance into jail, because during the booking process more narcotics were found hidden in his clothing.

Ramos, the other guy in this story, was booked for possession of marijuana for sale and conspiracy.
