During their investigation, deputies determined that the injuries happened during a recent stay at the home of the girl’s biological father, 28-year-old Joshua Goff.

Goff and his girlfriend, 29-year-old Jenna Havlik, allegedly hit the child and caused bruising on both her back and head. The couple made up several stories when questioned by deputies about the injuries.

Goff and Havlik were arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on child abuse charges.

The child is expected to be okay and is staying with her mother and stepfather. The investigation on the matter is still open.
