Five Inglewood-Area Laborers Charged with First Degree Robbery, More

INGLEWOOD, CA—A gang of men in an alleged midnight robbery attempt were charged with more than a million dollars worth of charges early Wednesday morning.

Anthony Robert Holquin, 19; Cesar Antonio Velazquez, 20; Roberto Carlos Punzo, 25; Eduardo Loza, 19; and Gabriel Vega Portillo, 21, were all picked up by Inglewood Police Department (IPD) officers at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10 at the corner of Condon Avenue and 104th Street in the unincorporated area immediately southwest of Inglewood, California. The jurisdiction is overseen by IPD and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (LASD).

All five men were charged with first degree robbery (211PC) and conspiracy to commit a crime (182(A)(1)PC). Velazquez hard an added charge of driving with a suspended license (14601.1AVC) and was only one of the five men to also be charged with it.

Noe of those charged were reported to have priors. According to the police reports, four of the five men claimed they were “laborers”; Loza claimed to be a student.

Except for Velazquez, each charged man had a bail set at $100,000 for each of their respective two charges. Velazquez was charged the an additional $300 bail for his suspended license along with the two $100,000 bail amounts.
