Ex-Marketing Director Arrested on Embezzlement Charges

LOMA LINDA – A Redlands woman employed by Loma Linda University Medical Center was arrested in connection in embezzlement charges that included $360,000 of high tech equipment.

When Tammy Wren Violet Veach, 45, was arrested on Tuesday, investigators had discovered information enough to serve a search warrant at Veach’s Redlands residence. She was arrested at her residence, said police.

Evidence was obtained, according to Det. Michael Salazar, at Veach’s residence that led to her arrest which took place at 8:46 a.m. on January 27, according to reports.

Salazar said the investigation netted “substantial information” that led to the search warrant. The investigation was conducted by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s substation, also referred to as the Loma Linda Police Dept.

Veach lives at 31160 Sutherland Dr., which is near Redlands Country Club. She is suspected of embezzling $360,000 in Apple iPads and Apple MacBooks from LLUMC. She has worked there, according to reports, since 1992 as the executive director of marketing. According to LLUMC officials, Veach was no longer employed as of January 20.

The MacBooks, said Salazar, were embezzled during the course of her employment. The police did not reveal the circumstances that led into the investigation. One day after being arrested, Veach apparently posted bail, according to booking records, though no bail amount was listed. She faces charges of embezzlement and grand theft, according to the jail records.

She had been booked into Central Detention Center in San Bernardino. No court appearances have been scheduled.
