Courier Popped for Carrying Multiple Driving-Related Warrants

HAWTHORNE, CA—It seems to be par for the course that often those who are employed for a purpose are found to be abusing their position and doing exactly what they are paid to prevent others from doing. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that some trades have employees exhibit an irony in what they do and the violations found against them.

Tony Rodney Reese, 27, was arrested by Hawthorne police officers on Friday, January 9 at approximately 7:25 a.m. at the corner of Crenshaw Boulevard and Imperial Highway in Inglewood. The self-proclaimed courier was found to have no fewer than four driving-related warrants from four different southern California police agencies. Two of the warrants were for driving without a license: one was from Hawthorne Police Department (PD) (12500(A)VC) and the other was from Torrance PD. The other two were for driving with a suspended license and were from Los Angeles PD (14601.1AVC) and Santa Monica PD.

Despite the similarity of the violations that prompted the warrants, the bail amounts varied greatly for the Hawthorne resident. Hawthorne’s bail was $1,000; LAPD demanded $1,726; Torrance listed $2,500 and Santa Monica clocked in at $5,000 for their cut.

It’s unknown for which company Reese works—or worked—but it may be a long time before he delivers again.
