Chowchilla horse trainer can’t outrun police

A Chowchilla man has been arrested and detained on multiple charges last Saturday night, according to the Madera County Department of Corrections. Jesus Bautista, 51, was arrested by Chowchilla Police for willful cruelty or endangerment of a child, driving under the influence of alcohol and with a blood alcohol level exceeding .08%, driving with a license suspended for a previous DUI, and display of false registration credentials. He was booked at the county jail just before midnight.

Bautista reportedly lives at the Green Valley Training Center facility.

Bautista, who works as a horse trainer for the Green Valley Training Center in Chowchilla, was pulled over late at night with an unidentified child in the vehicle. Bautista has been charged with DUI before, but this time the added charge of child endangerment, which results from the mere presence of a child when caught driving under the influence, adds a felony to his list of offenses, and will likely result in a much stricter sentence if convicted.

Bail for the felony charge was set at $10,000. He was released on bond after being booked at the Madera Department of Corrections.
