Cell Phone Distribution Center Burglars Caught in Vacaville

Cell Phone Distribution Center Burglars Caught in Vacaville

About 7 am in the morning of Monday, December 1, an observant Vacaville police officer on routine patrol noticed something odd. According to a Vacaville P.D. press release, the officer glimpsed a pickup truck “parked in a manner to hide its location” behind a building along the 700 block of Vaca Valley Parkway near Eubanks Drive and the Putah South Canal.

The access gates to the fenced yard surrounding the building, which the press release said was a “cellular telephone tower distribution center,” were closed but unlocked. Upon discovering that the gate only appeared to be locked, officers investigated further. One of the building’s rear entries had been forced open. Soon, officers contacted Jason Allen Hamilton, 33, a resident of Forest Hill and Katie Elizabeth Wade, 26, of Suisun City.

The larcenous pair had numerous burglary tools in their possession. There was also a large number of batteries stacked inside the suspicious truck. The burglars were almost done with their work when the officers contacted them.

The suspects were arrested and booked into Solano County Jail on a wide variety of charges. The investigation is ongoing; authorities believe this case may be connected to other recent cell phone facility burglaries. Hamilton had been arrested just two weeks prior in El Cerrito for possession of stolen property.
