Burglary Suspect Sought in Hollister

Suspect was caught on surveillance camera

HOLLISTER—The Hollister Police Department is searching for a Hispanic male that was caught on surveillance footage stealing an electronic table device from the Rite Aid Store in Hollister.

On Thursday, August 14th, Officers with the Hollister Police Department responded to a report of burglary that had occurred at the Rite Aid Store at 1701 Airline Highway. The suspect was caught on surveillance video, but was able to escape.

The surveillance footage revealed that a Hispanic man enter the store about 8 p.m. He was about 5-foot-8, medium build, black hair and a mustache.   He was wearing dark pants, a black hat and a black hooded sweatshirt with white lettering.

An investigation revealed that the man entered the store and headed over to the electronics department and allegedly cut off a security sensor that was on a “tablet device”, and left the store with the tablet.

Security Officers of the Rite Aid Store aided in the investigation by providing police with a copy of the video. “We are releasing a still image of the suspect entering the store.” Hollister Police Captain Carlos Reynoso wrote.  “Our hope is, that he will be possibly identified by the public.
