Santa Barbara County – It took nine full years for allegations of a sexual molestation incident that reportedly took place at Santa Barbara County’s San Marcos Christian Camp in 2005 to come to light, with the arrest of the now-identified accused occurring expeditiously.
In spite of the fact that Ronald “Chad” Williams, 35, has been residing in Honolulu, Hawaii for the past several years, once he was identified by his purported victim, now an adult male, “a warrant was issued for Williams and he was arrested in Honolulu,” on June 21st according to Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Kelly Hoover. Williams was employed as the director of the San Marcos Christian Camp—located in the foothills north of the Santa Barbara city limits–in the summer of 2005 when he allegedly molested his accuser who was then approximately 10-11 years of age.
Teamwork involving the Los Angeles County Sheriff Special Victims Bureau and the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Detective Bureau, Williams was located and arrested in Honolulu, and was transported back to Santa Barbara as the controlling jurisdiction where the crimes are reported to have taken place. With the investigation ongoing, Hoover indicated that “at the time of the crime, Williams and the victim were the only people present at the camp when the crime occurred.”
Hoover further indicated that there may be additional victims of Williams during his tenure at the camp, and outreach is being made to members of the public for any further information regarding this case or any additional victims.
