The below investigations are part of the ongoing efforts of the Bakersfield Police Department and law enforcement partners to proactively disrupt and impact the cycle of gang violence affecting the community.

On November 13, 2020, at about 7:36 a.m, officers of the Bakersfield Police Department responded to a report of an unconscious subject behind the wheel of a vehicle in the 4400 block of California Avenue. Responding officers contacted the driver, Cameron Hill (40).
A search of the vehicle incident to Hill’s arrest for vehicle code violations revealed a loaded stolen firearm and usable amount of fentanyl. Hill was placed under arrest for felon in possession of a firearm and other associated charges.
On November 13, 2020, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers of the Bakersfield Police Department contacted three juveniles (14, 14, 17), in the 2300 block of Westholme Boulevard. Officers were in the area conducting a shooting investigation. All three juveniles were armed with concealed firearms. All three were placed under arrest for gang participation and associated weapon violations.
On November 12, 2020, at approximately 11:35 p.m., officers of the Bakersfield Police Department conducted a vehicle code enforcement stop in the 5900 block of Almendra Court. Officers were in the area regarding a report of shots fired and stabbing. During a search of the vehicle, a loaded stolen firearm was located. Paul Evans (31) was placed under arrest for possession of stolen property and associated weapon charges.
On November 12, 2020, at approximately 7:52 p.m., officers of the Bakersfield Police Department conducted a parole search in the 700 block of K Street. Two subjects fled on foot from officers and were apprehended after discarding a loaded unregistered firearm.
Ruben Martinez (25) and Richard Garcia (27) were placed under arrest for felons in possession of a firearm, gang participation, possession of an unregistered firearm and other associated charges.
On November 11, 2020, at approximately 8:53 p.m., officers of the Bakersfield Police Department conducted a vehicle code enforcement stop in the 1100 Fargo Street. Officers observed the passenger conceal a firearm beneath his seat during the contact.
Damarria Cage (30) was placed under arrest and two firearm were recovered from beneath Cage’s seat. One of the firearms was found to be previously stolen. Cage was currently on bail for a prior recent firearm possession arrest. He was placed under arrest for gang participation, and associated weapon violation charges.
