“On October 12th, our Correctional Officer intercepted a greeting card, filled with narcotics, that was sent to an inmate located at our downtown jail. Our office launched an investigation and determined Hailey Spahn (25yrs, Vallejo) was the culprit behind the illegal mail.
At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies arrested Spahn for conspiring and bringing a controlled substance into our jail.
If you are not already aware, please take note that all routine mail sent to an inmate is opened, examined, and scanned by designated department staff.
It is also a FELONY to bring a controlled substance into any jail or prison in the state of California (4573 P.C.), and we take it VERY SERIOUSLY.
