“On October 12, deputies were patrolling the city of Vallejo when a car driven by 19-year-old Jamell Blasher (Richmond) zipped past them at a high rate of speed.
A deputy quickly pulled behind Blasher’s car and conducted a records check on his vehicle. The DMV return showed the registration was expired. Ultimately, the deputy initiated a traffic stop. After pulling Blasher over for the perceived violations, Blasher took off.
Being quick to react, the deputy ran back to the patrol unit and initiated a pursuit. Thankfully, the pursuit didn’t last long and ended with Blasher running into a curb at the dead-end of Spruce Street. Moments later he was taken into custody.
Deputies searched in and around Blasher’s car and found live rounds of ammunition and a loaded .45 caliber firearm. The handgun was reported stolen out of Napa County.
Blasher was arrested for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, probation violation, driving without a valid driver’s license, evading, and other related charges.
