Six Arrested for Gang Related Drive-by Shooting

The evening of June 25, 2020, multiple shots were fired during a drive by at the 400 block of Rogell Court as a result of an ongoing gang-on-gang dispute. The incident resulted in a 16-year old suffering a minor injury. The San Mateo Police Department launched an investigation that led them to homes across the San Francisco Bay Area.

Months of investigative work and the collective efforts of the San Mateo Police Department detectives, North Central Regional S.W.A.T., and various law enforcement partners culminated with the arrest of six gang members the morning of October 15, 2020.

28-year old Christian Escobar of Redwood City was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and attempted robbery.

25-year old Ramon Alberto Camacho of South San Francisco was arrested for attempted murder, driver permitting others to discharge firearm from vehicle, committing crime in furtherance of the gang, and evading a peace officer.

21-year old Luis Maciel of Redwood City was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery, vandalism over $400, and committing crime in furtherance of the gang.

Jesus Juarez, 18-year-old San Mateo resident was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, vandalism over $400, and committing crime in furtherance of the gang.

18-year old Redwood City resident, Jonathan Mendoza, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, attempted robbery, vandalism over $400, and committing crime in furtherance of the gang.

And a 16-year old juvenile arrestee of San Mateo was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
