” *** UPDATE***
The registered owner of the vehicle has contacted MPD and has recanted their report of the vehicle being stolen. Being in possession of a stolen vehicle will not be charged; however Rodriguez will remain in custody for several outstanding warrants and driving while his license was suspended.
This afternoon officers located a reported stolen vehicle in the area of Cleveland Avenue and Schnoor Avenue. 31-year-old Saul Rodriguez was the driver of the stolen vehicle. He was arrested and booked at Madera Department of Corrections on vehicle theft charges.
We would like to remind everyone as the cooler weather quickly approaches to not leave your vehicle unattended while warming it up. Remember to always lock your vehicle while unattended and remove any items of value from the vehicle. Thieves look for easy opportunities, the tougher we make it for them the better! AV3902.”
