Woman and Children Hide Inside Bathroom While 2 Men Robbed Their Home

Two San Bernardino men have been arrested for robbing a home while the victim and her children hid inside the bathroom.

At about 3 PM on September 26, 2020, a woman inside her home in the 26600 Block of Ward Street in Highland watched as two suspects parked their car and walked toward her residence.  One of the suspects, 25-year-old David McClain, was holding a handgun.  The other suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Giovanni Holmes.

The woman and her children hid inside the bathroom and barricaded the door as the two men forced their way into the residence.  They took a television and a purse before fleeing the scene.

Highland Station deputies responded and issued arrest warrants for each suspect.  After deputies notified San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) about the incident, SED deputies found and arrested both suspects in the City of San Bernardino on September 28th.

“Further investigation revealed McClain was a person of interest in an ongoing San Bernardino Police Department investigation for felon in possession of a firearm,” according to the release.

Holmes and McClain were both booked into the West Valley Detention Center for residential robbery.
